California Tribal Families Coalition: 2021 Summer Law Student Fellow

California Tribal Families Coalition (www.caltribalfamilies.org) is a small tribal consortium working in tribal, family and child welfare. CTFC is now looking for a 2021 summer law student fellow. Summer fellows are supervised by the Legal Director and work on a variety of projects related to the mission of the organization. Projects of past law students have included: research and writing about legislative efforts to improve Indian child welfare practice-related statutes (including topics related to education law, delinquency law, and child welfare); research and analysis related to CTFC lawsuits against federal agencies; preparing CTFC opposition to a county request to depublish a district court decision; and preparing and presenting training materials on issues related to family welfare and litigation. The CTFC summer law student fellowship is a paid position, dependent on experience. Work setting will be remote. Preferred start date is the first week of July to August 31th, with some flexibility. The weekly schedule is flexible with a minimum of 30 hours a week. CTFC is looking for a rising 2L or 3L. CTFC is an equal opportunity employer - Native law students are strongly encouraged to apply.
