Litigation Attorney – Federal Indian Law

Position Description: Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP seeks an ambitious attorney with at least six years of experience in Federal Indian Law for a position with our Indian Law Practice Team. Our team provides legal and strategic advice to American Indian tribal governments, tribal courts and other entities committed to advancing tribal sovereignty, self-determination, and economic development in Indian country. To assist with accomplishing our clients’ legal, political and business goals, our attorneys work with clients to design effective legal strategies, defend tribal rights and formulate innovative approaches to transactional issues. A few of our focus areas include: cannabis, gaming, sovereignty issues and taxation. 

Strong skills in communication, legal advocacy, and writing are required. Excellent academic credentials, as well as prior experience in litigation preferred. The attorney selected for this position must be a self-starter and will have the opportunity for direct client contact. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York State.
