Office of Governor Walz & Lt. Governor Flanagan: Tribal State Relations Intern

Position Title: Director, Tribal State Relations, Office of Governor Walz & Lt. Governor Flanagan

Position Description: The Tribal State Relations Team (TSR) manages the government-to-government relationship between the Governor and Lieutenant Governor and the 11 Sovereign Tribal Nations that share land with Minnesota. The TSR team engages in outreach with the urban, non-reservation Native community. Interns will assist with the TSR newsletter, coordinate meetings with tribal leadership and urban communities, perform research on current issues impacting the Native/Indigenous communities within Minnesota, and other tasks based on interest. If local, the Interns will also have the opportunity to attend meetings and visits between the Governor’s office and the Tribes.
