MEET CAITLIN
CAITLIN CLARKE
SEATTLE UNIVERSITY SchooL OF LAW
Class of 2025
Caitlin Clarke is a dual US-Canadian citizen, born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. Caitlin received her undergraduate degree in International Studies from the University of Washington, where she had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Melbourne and then subsequently live in Australia for about three years.
The experience of living in the United States, Canada, and Australia along with her undergraduate studies informed Caitlin of the global nature of colonization and forced dispossession of land. She participated in a research trip to Ottawa, Ontario for her senior capstone to research how melting sea ice in the Arctic impacts Canadian Inuit living in the region. This resulted in a co-authored policy report published in the Arctic and International Relations Series titled "The Right to Sea Ice: Canadian Arctic Policy and Inuit Priorities."
Caitlin is interested in how Indigenous peoples around the world use both domestic and international law to promote sovereignty and exercise the rights inherent to Indigenous peoples. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the National NALSA Board for the 2024-25 academic year.
